HAPPY NEW YEAR
Well, here we are, 2021. First, of course, Happy New Year to everyone.
A lot has happened at Anhalt (Plakatsmeden / Fine Art Printery) in the last few years, I have gone from having only one Etsy shop to having both one on Etsy and one on Shopify, since then I have closed it on Shopify, and opened it 'again' on an independent host. Likewise, I also had an older Danish page, which I have recently taken down, in order to restore and streamline it with the English language that I am about to create.
Currently, you'll find most products on it at Etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/FineArtPrintery
I have recently started to build the (new) English and Danish pages, but since I am alone in this, and in everything else too, it must be expected to go slowly.
Nevertheless, they are active and you can find them here:

https://www.plakatsmeden.dk (which is the one you are looking at right now)
My sales are moving forward slowly but steadily, and the lack of growth is mainly due to me not spending a lot of resources on marketing. It's all about economics, of course. My workshop generates a low income and all the income has already been written off to expenses to such an extent that there is no surplus left to spend on marketing. It is partly my own choice, as I am naturally more creative than I am selling. This is how it can go when you make a living from the road, by cultivating your interests and matters of the heart – for my own part, the love of old art.
It's not something I'm sorry for, on the contrary, I love recreating the beautiful illustrations.
THANK YOU !
All my progress is therefore thanks to you and yours. Every time one of you finds me, buys a poster and then shows it to your family and friends, you help me get out into the world.
It is word-of-mouth marketing that I cannot do without. It gives me time and the opportunity to immerse myself in making the posters, and find new beautiful illustrations that I can make into the beautiful wall art.
So with all my heart, thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate it and hope I can continue to make products that you enjoy as much as I do.
TV series Friends Theme
As something new, I have decided that my newsletters must contain some sort of theme, and the theme for this, the first newsletter of the year, I have chosen to be posters seen in the TV series Friends.
Friends is a TV series that started on September 22, 1994 and ended only after a total of 236 amazing episodes.
In short, it's about six friends and their lives with their ups and downs. I was about 16 when the series first started and I didn't pay much attention to it at the time. However, when streaming services gained traction and I could now watch series without having to wait a whole week for the next episode, I became more curious about the TV series Friends. Today I have to admit that it is one of the best sitcom series I have ever seen, at least to date.
When you watch the episodes from Friends, you will notice that there are several posters in the same older vintage style that you often find on Anhalt.dk.
So to combine the love for Friends and the love for the old posters, I have therefore studied and worked hard to be able to recreate several of the most beautiful posters that you can find in the TV series.

If you also love Friends, here I am giving you a wonderful opportunity to get the well-known posters up on your own wall, and in January, February and March (2021), I am even giving a 20% percent discount on these posters from the TV series Friends. This first poster is the Boxing Kangaroo, a Russian poster from around 1933. In Friends, you can find it in Chandler and Joey's apartment on the wall just around the corner from the kitchen.

Then we have the Excelsior sewing machine poster, a very simple but beautiful poster. In several episodes, you find it hanging in Rachel Green's bedroom at the entrance just behind the door, from where it was often mostly visible from the living room. It was also a part of every apartment she moved into after she moved from Monica.

This beautiful Jules Chéret art piece titled Folies Bergères – La Loïe Fuller hangs on the secretary's wall, by Rachel Green's office in the episodes where she works for Ralph Lauren.

This poster, also originally by Jules Chéret, is by far one of the most popular pieces of art in the TV series, Aux Buttes Chaumont: jouets et objets pour étrennes. For almost the entire series, it hangs above the television in the hallway of Monica's apartment.

Pierre Decourcelle created this poster in 1915 as an advertisement for Les Mystères de New York. At first the poster was too “modern” for my taste, but over time it has become one of my favorites. It hangs in Joey and Chandler's apartment in the living room to the right of the door to Chandler's room.

The clairvoyant Maina was perhaps one of the most difficult posters for me to photograph properly, but nevertheless I made it work and am therefore also very happy to be able to include it in the collection. Maïna La Voyante is an old French poster and can be seen in Monica's apartment located to the left of the front door.

Last but not least, we have the poster Porto Ramos-Pinto with the two beautiful port wine-loving young people. You can find this amazing TV series poster in Monica's bedroom.

Yes, I know that there are many more posters featured in the TV series Friends, but for various reasons I have not yet been able to produce them all. Feel free to write to me if there are specific posters from the series that you are looking for. Otherwise, I hope you will still be satisfied with the collection I have been able to create here, and that you will enjoy them as much as I do.
Finally
Every day I think about how I can make my business grow, while at the same time using the resources and love to create the products. If you have ideas and suggestions that could help me, and if there is something you are looking for and would like to see more of from plakatsmeden.dk, also what could be good themes in future newsletters, then you are welcome to write to me.
I also hope that we can face the new year with common strength, despite the challenges that the previous year may have given us all individually.
The best greetings
Marius Anhalt
