This beautiful advertising poster for Bock beer shows two goats in nice "human clothes", from which one goat holds a nice frothy Bock beer. The beer poster is originally from 1883.
The goat is most often associated with Bock beer, and that is not entirely by chance. Bock was first brewed, or invented if you will, in the 14th century by German brewers in the town of Einbeck. A few hundred years later or thereabouts, the skilled brewers from the Munich area had adopted the brewing method, and it was also these who made the beer really famous. However, due to their Bavarian accents, citizens of Munich pronounced "Einbeck" as "ein Bock", which means goat, and so it has been quite natural to associate the type of beer with the goat.
