Vintage advertising poster for the toy department of a French department store, l'Économie Ménagère, Paris. The French magazine that had everything every household desired was located at the prestigious address of 30 Avenue des Ternes, near the heart of Paris, not far from the Arc de Triomphe.
The text on the poster says: Jouets, 30 Avenue des Ternes, à l'Économie Ménagère. And the illustration was originally made by Paul Balluriau, and published in 1895.
The handsome older gentleman in the hooded star coat is probably better known as Father Christmas, which probably means that the poster was part of l'Économie Ménagère's Christmas sale.
