Clothes are not a new invention, not even in the Netherlands. Here, for example, a nice poster from the beginning of the 20th century, Kreijmborg's advertisement for tailor-made clothes, or as it is called in the original language, Kreijmborg's reclame maat costumes.
The original poster was made by Arnold van Roessel.
Here you can see two very handsome gentlemen who are in the process of taking measurements, presumably for a new set of clothes.
Moreover, the offer is almost impossible to resist. You can get one row of buttons for 30 guilders, and two rows for only 32 guilders. By the way, large sizes are 10 to 15% more expensive, just so you know.
