Lagertha is a fantastic illustration created by Morris Meredith Williams around 1913. It was originally drawn as an illustration for Eleanor Hull's book, "The Northmen in Britain."

This version is made from a photograph of the book, it is subsequently digitally edited and enlarged to become a captivating work on the wall.

According to legend, Lagertha was a fantastically skilled shield maiden and ruler or chieftain/queen if you will. She came from what is now Norway, where she was also known as the wife of the famous Viking, Ragnar Lodbrok. The chronicler Saxo documented her captivating history in the 12th century.

Let's dive into the fascinating tale of Lagertha, the fierce Viking ruler and warrior woman.
