One of the most unusual inventions of the early 20th century! This 1902 patent (US730918A), invented by Andrew Jackson Jr., shows an eye protector designed specifically for chickens. The purpose of this invention was to prevent chickens from pecking at each other, especially in cramped coops where aggressive behavior often occurs.
The patent drawing shows a pair of small protective goggles that attach over the hen's eyes so that it can still see, but without being provoked by other chickens. The idea was to reduce injuries and stress in the flock and thus improve conditions in poultry farming.
This fun and rare patent illustration is the perfect wall decoration for poultry enthusiasts, farmers, or those with a taste for curious historical inventions. A great conversation piece and a unique gift idea!
